The Pursuit with A. W. Tozer
I Believe… In Jesus’s Resurrection and Ascension
We are more than conquerors, through our Captain’s triumph; let us shout the victory as we onward go.
The Apostles' Creed by A.W. Tozer, chapter 5
It is of great practical importance to us to know that the Christ who lived again still lives. “Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ” (Acts 2:36), said Peter on the day of Pentecost; and this accorded with our Lord’s own words, “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth” (Matt. 28:18), and with the words of Hebrews, “Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens” (Heb. 8:1).
Not only does He still live, but He can never die again. “Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him” (Rom. 6:9).
Finally, all that Christ is, all that He has accomplished for us is available to us now if we obey and trust.
We are more than conquerors, through our Captain’s triumph; let us shout the victory as we onward go.
How will you live differently today in light of the resurrection? Take a few moments to thank God for raising Jesus in power from the dead for your justification.
